After a lengthy period of work on my C64 emulator, and some other side projects, I wanted to move to the next emulator. The options were PSX and SNES, and the latter one was which I finally opted for.
The Super Nintendo, in my eyes, was a groundbreaking console and has (along other consoles) a special place in my heart. Especially games like Super Mario World or Street Fighter 2 really get me in a nostalgic mood very quickly.
The SNES is basically a 16-bit console, and has a quite a bit more complex design than we have seen in e.g. the NES. This includes cartridges with special features and special hardware. So the first goal will be to get SMW and SF2 running, before I might even advance to more complex cartridges.
Let’s get started.
